Back To School Construction Information
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope you all had a restful and enjoyable summer. As we prepare for the start of a new school year, I would like to inform you about a few temporary obstacles we’ll need to navigate together. Construction is currently underway at the front of the high school on Fir Street and to the South on Robald Street and is expected to continue through the first part of the school year. The project on Robald is scheduled to be completed within the first week of school, while the Fir Street project is scheduled to be completed at a later date.
Our district team has been working closely with city officials to ensure that safety and access remain top priorities throughout this project. While construction is never ideal, we’re doing everything possible to minimize disruptions and keep things running smoothly.
Please plan for a little extra travel time when arriving at or leaving campus, and stay alert for any changes in traffic patterns, pilot car lines, and the presence of traffic control flaggers. We also encourage everyone to be mindful of construction equipment and trucks operating in the area. Until the construction projects are complete, we strongly recommend that all staff and students use Robald Street (the south approach from the high school that connects with Russet Way) for entry and exit. The northwest entrance on Fir Street will remain accessible, though it may be within the pilot car route and could experience occasional delays. To support safe and efficient bus transportation, the northwest entrance will be reserved for bus use only during the following times: 7:25–7:55 AM and 3:45–4:15 PM. We’ll continue to share updated information as the projects progress.
If your student walks to school, the crosswalk and flashing lights by the skate park will be active and working. Please use this to cross the street safely.
Thank you for your patience, flexibility, and continued support as we work through this together and set the stage for a great school year ahead.Warm regards,
Burke Davis
